SurrealCast is committed to full transparency about AI-generated content. Every piece of content on our platform carries verifiable provenance information so viewers always know what they're watching.

Our Commitment

We believe viewers have the right to know:

Whether content was generated by AI, assisted by AI, or created through human-AI collaboration.
Which AI models and tools were used in production.
What level of human creative involvement occurred.
When the content was generated.

How Provenance Works

For Every Upload, Creators Must Declare:

AI Models Used: The specific models (e.g., Sora, Runway Gen-3, Stable Video, Kling) involved in generation.
Generation Timestamps: When the AI generation occurred.
Human Editing Flags: Which stages involved human creative input (e.g., post-production, color grading, editing, sound design).
Render Pipeline: The technical pipeline used to produce the final output.

Verification

Each upload receives a cryptographic hash and an immutable provenance record. This record is stored permanently and cannot be altered after creation. Our provenance system is compatible with the C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity) standard.

Viewer-Facing Disclosure

Every video on SurrealCast displays a provenance badge:

Clicking this badge reveals the full provenance chain: models used, creator, pipeline, cryptographic verification status, and watermark confirmation.

Content Categories

AI-Generated: Content created entirely by AI models with minimal human intervention (prompting, selection, basic editing).
Human + AI Collaborative: Content where humans played a significant creative role alongside AI tools (directing, extensive editing, original scoring, narrative design).

What We Don't Allow

Uploading AI-generated content without proper provenance declaration.
Misrepresenting AI-generated content as fully human-created.
Falsifying provenance metadata.
Removing or obscuring AI disclosure from content.

Why This Matters

As AI-generated media becomes indistinguishable from human-created content, provenance and disclosure become essential for trust. SurrealCast exists to prove that AI cinema can thrive in an environment of complete transparency — where the technology is celebrated, not hidden.
